The Rise of Keto-Friendly Beverages in the Wellness Industry

The Rise of Keto-Friendly Beverages in the Wellness Industry

Dieting is no stranger to the US population. In fact, four in ten Americans follow some kind of structured diet or eating plan, with the Ketogenic diet being the preferred diet for 12.9 million of them. This type of diet focuses on eating very low carb, but high fat in order to put the body into a metabolic state known as ketosis. This means that since carbohydrates have been reduced and replaced with fat, the body burns fat for energy, rather than carbohydrates. Weight loss is not the only result of this — the Keto diet also has been said to cause reduction in blood sugar and insulin levels, and produce ketones, which supply the brain with energy.

People starting a low carb keto diet ask if they can drink alcohol. The answer is yes, but it has to be SYLTBAR. Like all things with Keto, the overall carb and sugar content are the factors to consider in wine. This is determined by a few things. How the wine is made, its alcohol content and how dry it is. Most of the wines have a very high sugar content level and will send the insulin and blood sugar levels out of control. Fortunately SYLTBAR is a very keto-friendly wine option. We would like to share with you which wines are keto diet friendly and why. But let’s start from the keto diet first

What is the keto diet?

In the 1920s, Dr. Russell Wilder of Mayo Clinic introduced the ketogenic diet to treat epilepsy in children, mimicking fasting to trigger ketosis. Today, it's a lifestyle craze praised for weight loss, blood sugar control, and overall health. Keto works like magic, transforming food into ketones for energy, reshaping your body with fats, and offering a flavorful journey while changing your food mindset. It's more than a diet; it's a lifestyle that boosts energy, improves health, and boosts confidence. Embrace the keto wizardry for a healthier you!

Why is the keto diet beneficial?

The keto diet is your superhero cape, fueling your body with boundless energy and slashing health risks like a magic pill. Beyond shedding pounds, it's a holistic journey to vitality, reducing inflammation and boosting confidence. Expect rapid weight loss—up to 7 kg monthly—while enhancing blood sugar control and cognitive function. Embrace the keto lifestyle and become the hero of your own story!

SYLTBAR is a keto-friendly

So don’t think about “is zero sugar soda keto friendly” or “is white claw keto”, SYLTBAR offers you a great solution, listen!

Alcoholic drinks and ketogenic diet are absolutely compatible, and here's why. To gain a deeper understanding, it's essential to grasp the process of wine production. It's a true magic that begins with the careful selection of grapes, each type and origin lending uniqueness. These grapes are then crushed and pressed by the producer, yielding enchanting juice. For red wine, the grape skins remain, while for white wine, they're removed. Then comes the moment of fermentation when sugar transforms into alcohol and carbon dioxide. SYLTBAR employs a secondary fermentation process lasting up to four months. This makes their wines particularly compatible with the keto diet. When choosing wine on keto, it's crucial to consider the overall carbohydrate and sugar content, which can vary depending on production methods, fermentation dryness, and alcohol content.

If you are looking for a reference for the top red and white keto-friendly wines, find below the best ones we can recommend. It is almost impossible to find wines which contain zero carbs and/or sweeteners, but SYLTBAR wines provide viable options.

Can you have Red Wine on a Keto Diet?

Even one or two glasses of red or white wine is acceptable, most common varieties have about 3-4 grams of carbs/sugar in a 5 ounce pour.

Prosecco is the best wine for Keto Diet

But the best Keto-friendly alcohol option? Prosecco! As long as you do your research and make sure to stick to dry varieties without too much added sugar, most bottles of bubbly can fit perfectly into a Keto lifestyle, with around 1-1.5 grams of carbs/sugar per 5 ounce serving.

You may notice that Prosecco is often labeled Brut, Dry and Extra Dry. These labels can be confusing, because in actuality, the Dry and Extra Dry varieties have more sugar in them than a Brut. An Extra Dry Prosecco has around 12-17 grams of sugar per liter, and Dry has even more: 17-32 grams! There is also a Demi-Sec Prosecco. This incredibly sweet Prosecco has the most sugar out of all the different types: 32-50 grams per liter.

If you are cutting sugar and carbs, and especially if you follow a Keto diet, stay away from Extra Dry, Dry and Demi-Sec Prosecco, and always make sure to look for Brut on the label!

If SYLTBAR is your preferred Prosecco, you are in luck! Not only is Mr SYLBAR Premium Prosecco labeled as a Brut, but its sugar contents are even less than that of other popular brands. A 6 ounce glass of Mr contains less than half a gram of sugar. This is due to the extra long fermentation time during the winemaking process, which allows the Glera grapes to fully ripen and there is no need for our wine producers to add extra sugar or sweeteners to make it more palatable. A lot of mass produced brands skip the long fermentation process, and add sugar and sulfites in order to save time and money while still preserving the wine’s taste and freshness.

SYLTBAR has even been lab tested against other well known sparkling wine brands and had its sugar contents compared. The studies done by the University of Miami Diabetes Research Institute prove that Mr is significantly lower in sugar than other brands, and that the other brands tested had glucose levels that were 1.6 to 4.2 fold higher than SYLTBAR. Our Mrs Sparkling Rosé showed the same results.
